Voices of MomsLeague: Nidhi Khosla, Food Content Creator and Recipe Developer

As part of our Voices of MomsLeague series, we’re thrilled to feature Nidhi Khosla, the creative force behind Oh My Vegggies, who is bringing the soul of regional Indian cooking to the digital world. A former educator turned culinary entrepreneur, Nidhi’s journey is a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to reclaim a childhood dream. From growing up inspired by her father’s passion for cooking to finding her "sweet spot" with viral ice cream recipes, Nidhi has built a community centered on mindful, healthy, and authentic eating. Here’s what she had to share with us.

MLG: What inspired you to start Oh My Vegggies?

Nidhi: Ever since I was nine years old, I wanted to become a chef. I think a big part of that came from watching my father cook. Unlike most men I saw growing up, he was extremely passionate about cooking and would make the most amazing dishes for us—sometimes even better than my mom! Cooking was something that was celebrated in our home. I was also lucky to grow up in a family where everyone cooked really well. On my maternal side, my grandmother lived in Himachal Pradesh, so whenever we visited her we enjoyed simple, soulful Pahadi food. My maternal grandmother in Punjab had a completely different style of cooking—rich, comforting Punjabi dishes. Visiting different family members meant experiencing different regional cuisines, and those food memories stayed with me. Although I couldn’t pursue hotel management in my younger years and instead spent about 15 years working as an educator, the desire to cook never really left me. At one point I realized that if I truly loved food this much, I should turn that passion into something meaningful—and hopefully something I could also earn from. That’s when I started Oh My Vegggies. It was my way of finally reconnecting with a dream I had carried since childhood.

MLG: What was the turning point for Oh My Vegggies?

Nidhi: When I started my page, I committed to posting consistently. I shared almost 100 recipes in the beginning—but honestly, none of them really worked. The engagement was minimal and it felt like nothing was clicking. Then one day I decided to post something I personally loved making the most—ice creams. The moment I started sharing my ice cream recipes, the reels began going viral. People loved them, and suddenly the page started growing. That phase changed everything for me. Brands started reaching out, my audience began expanding, and for the first time I felt that this could actually become a serious career. Looking back, those viral ice cream reels were definitely the turning point that made me believe I didn’t have to go back to my previous profession as an educator.

MLG: How do you keep yourself motivated to blog every day?

Nidhi: For me, motivation comes from the community that has grown around my page. Every time someone messages me saying they tried a recipe for their family, packed it in their child’s lunchbox, or made it as part of a healthy meal plan—it reminds me why I started. I also see my page as a constant space for creativity. Cooking allows me to experiment with ingredients, techniques, and ideas every day. Some recipes are simple everyday meals, while others are new twists on traditional dishes. And honestly, consistency has become a habit now. When something you love becomes part of your daily routine, it doesn’t feel like a task anymore—it just feels like a natural extension of who you are.

MLG: Is there a particular person or experience that inspires your passion for food blogging?

Nidhi: My inspiration comes from two things I deeply love—regional Indian recipes and healthy eating. India has such an incredible diversity of food traditions, and I love exploring dishes from different regions. At the same time, I am personally very conscious about eating healthy and creating balanced meals. So my approach often becomes a combination of the two: taking traditional or regional recipes and giving them a slightly healthier twist while still keeping their authentic flavors intact. That balance between tradition and mindful eating is something that constantly inspires me to keep creating and sharing recipes with my audience.
